Creation of the Folan Empire:
Folans were rather simple people at the beginning. Still, they managed to form efficient governments quickly. First when their people had not yet united they lived in small city-like societies where a "council of wise" was leading. As odd as it may sound, everyone of these city-like societies had this kind of ruling force. This council was very similar to the one that Gigerdi Federation once had. Already at that time everyone was taught and even was loyal to the people and to the "government". Folans never had any quarrels with each other and thus these "cities" managed to unite with each other even from the beginning. They advanced fast in technology, mainly due to the fact that they were easily able to work together and combine ideas. After the whole planet had been united, which happened extremely fast compared to other races, the Shen'Tlar was formed. Its mission was to make sure that the government worked for the people and that the people worked for the government. It was made to make sure everyone was satisfied of how things were done. Not long after this the biggest council of wise was disbanded and the first "dictator" arose to power. However, his reign lasted only for four days. After this at least seven tried to form a dictatorship government, but even the longest ruling time was simply three weeks. Finally the senate was formed, this time having representatives from each largest city-area. The first praetor was soon elected as well. This marked the beginning of the Folan Empire. Before that, some of these cities had wished to remain independent, but the extreme power the Folan Empire had made them change their minds and joining the empire. Although the government type was already closer to democracy than empire the designation 'empire' has still been used, although in Folan language and culture these forms of governments are considered to be different.
Creation of the Folan Star Empire And Expansion:
Hundreds of years passes with nothing really major happening on Folanus. When they finally achieved space travel the first planet they explored was the neighboring planet Femes. As Folanus had no moons or satellites. Femes was also very much like Folanus. A radical discovery was made on Femes; completely same kind of Folans were from Femes, although they did have poorer technology and the population amount was smaller. Oddly enough these Folans on Femes had exactly the same kind of government and people, both socially and biologically. Even as to this date this hasn't been explained and remains a mystery that baffles both Folans and others as well. These planets soon united, although there were dissidents on both planets that thought that this wasn't a good idea and would in the end lead to the destruction of both peoples. The governments and majority of population still deemed this as a fruitful and beneficial alliance. After the unification both planets were declared as their homeworlds as it was suspected that some Folan village may have managed to construct a space ship and head to Femes for new lands. However, even as to this date this hasn't been proven accurately as very little of written information exist about the Folans that lived on Femes.
When Folans invented FTL-drives and colonized their first colony outside their own solar system the Folan Star Empire was formed to symbolize their "conquer" of stars. Decades past and the Folan Star Empire expanded itself throughout the quadrant. Then first contact was established with Vemrers. The first contact situation wasn't friendly as both of the species were rather xenophobic at that time. So a war begun shortly and lasted for two years. Distances were traveled slowly and the fleets were small so no big scale battles erupted. After about two years had passed and the war had gone badly on both sides with really no advancements. A peace treaty was soon signed and not long after that the two species started working together more and more. Years passed and more treaties were signed until one day an alliance was formed between the two species. Technology exchange and co-working begun. Shen'Tlar was transformed into an intelligence organization, as well. Now observing now only Folans, but other races as well.
During the Beginning of the Peace Station Project:
Vemrers then next got connection to the UFP. Folans soon also established connection with the UFP because of the alliance and not long after that a connection to Gigerdians was established. Vemrers decided to attack the UFP and Folans supported this idea. The joint Vemrer-Folan fleet made a surprise attack against the UFP. The UFP and Gigerdi Federation soon reacted and made several attacks against the Folans and Vemrers, soon driving the attacking forces back to their space. Vemrers and Folans realized that now that the Gigerdi Federation begun to help the UFP then Vemrers and Folans wouldn't have good chances of winning. So, a peace treaty was signed. The peace lasted. Then came the time of the Peace Station. Folans weren't much of fans of the PS-project, neither were they fans of Hemmoians or Bacterians. Many treaties were signed with the GF and the UFP.
New Wars for the Empire:
Few years later the Gorg War begun. It was the biggest war in which Folans had participated in. Folans were the first races to participate in the war although Vemrers didn't participate at first, but did enter the war at a later time. Once the shield weakness was found the Gorgs were easily defeated. Not much after the end of the Gorg War hostilities broke out with the Dominion. The Dominion War begun. Folans didn't participate in it so much, due to the fact that they had only a very small piece of border with the Dominion. Later when the war became more desperate they threw in almost their entire fleet. The war lasted for several months until it finally came to an end. During the Dominion War when the Secession War was ongoing the Folans sided with the Gigerdi Federation, although they gave no help to them. After the wars the Peace Station closed its doors as a major political power.
The Lightness War:
About a year after that the Lightness War begun. Folans weren't the first to get attacked and didn't participate in the war until they started loosing great deal of ships. The Folans managed to do few counter attacks, but all of them were destroyed. Hundreds of ships were lost at the beginning of the war. However, once the Folans and Vemrers joined forces they managed to score a victory or two. The war continued for over six months. A lot of ships and people were lost. Until finally it came to an end.
Emissaries And the Plague:
Then the next even to follow was the GA-IPA conflict, in which the Folans sided with the IPA. They gave military help to them, but otherwise remained with rather friendly relations with the GA. Later the Emissary conflicts begun. The Emissary fleet attacked the Gigerdi Prime and Aldaain. At first the Folans didn't do anything although their help was asked. However, later a huge fleet of Folan starships arrived at Gigerdi Prime to help against the Emissary forces. The Folans participated in the formation of the Intergalactic Alliance and became a member of it. They protested the Vemrers decision to join the UFP, but later came to accept it. Now they do very little to help to find the cure for the plague that ravages the galaxy.
